**Be Responsible **Be Respectful **Be Safe **Be a Positive Contributor _______________________________________________________ Independent PE Students: Don't forget to pick up your forms in the office. ____________________________________________________________ Picture Day: Is Thursday, Aug. 31st. _______________________________________________________ Spotlight Club: Is an acting club that meets twice a week after school and puts on a play. So if you are interested in acting, set design or other aspects of theater this is the group for you. Begins next Tuesday (29th) from 3 to 5 in the MPR. It will last for 10 weeks. Sign-up forms are in the office with Mrs. Martinez. Scholarships are available. _______________________________________________________ Want to be a part of something great? Join ASB! ASB students do an important job that requires a lot of time, effort, dedication, and responsibility. It is also very rewarding as it gives you great memories, opportunities to have fun, leadership skills , and gets you involved in the decisions that affect every student here at CMS. All grade levels are invited to participate. Meetings will be Thursdays during SSR & lunch in Rm 7 across from the library. First meeting will be Sept. 7th. Mr. Sabraw and Mrs. Guarnero will be the advisers. ____________________________________________________________ Yearbook: If you would like to be on the yearbook staff please let Mrs. Guarnero know you are interested by next Friday. Our first meeting will be held Sept. 6th at lunch in the library. _______________________________________________________ Band Classes: Band classes will start next week. Zero period band will start August 29th and seventh period string orchestra will start Wednesday August 30th. _______________________________________________________ Yearbook: There are still some available from last year if you would like to purchase a copy. They are only $25 , have 50 videos contained within, and are a wonderful reminder of all the great things than happened last year at CMS. See Mrs. G in the library if you would like one. _______________________________________________________ After School Program: Be the first to join the after school program! Don't wait until there is a waiting list!!! There's a snack, homework help and activities every day! _____________________________________________________________ Library: Is open every morning at 7:30, at nutrition, lunch and after school until 4pm (every day except Friday). You can do homework, read, look for a new book, go on the computers, chat (softly) with your friends and more. _____________________________________________________________ Summer Reading Challenge: Students who completed the challenge may return their logs to Mrs. Guarnero in the library. All participants receive a bookmark. Any student who has read more than 5,ooo pages will have lunch with our principal, Mr. Briggs.
