“Confidence is the most beautiful thing you can possess.” —Sabrina Carpenter, actress and singer. Patriot Day 2023 is today
Also referred to as 9/11 or September 11th. Patriot Day gives all of us time to reflect on the devastating attacks that took nearly 3,000 lives during the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001 in New York, Washington and Shanksville, Pennsylvania. We commemorate those we lost and give thanks to the brave first responders who put their lives on the line. It was a day that had an international impact as the world watched and stood together with the United States. American flags are flown at half-staff and The President asks fellow Americans to observe a moment of silence at 8:46 am (eastern time). That is the time the first plane flew into the North Tower of the World Trade Center. Although the attacks were in the U.S., Patriot Day is recognized worldwide as the news devastated and impacted people all over. Take a moment today to consider what we stand for as a nation and how we can work together to make the world a better place for all. www.911memorial.org/connect/commemoration/20th-anniversary-commemoration https://www.thirteen.org/collection/documentaries-september-11/ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Spirit Week ASB students will be coming to your 4th period class to count how many students and staff have participated.
