_____________________________________________________________________________________________ CHS Warrior Band & CMS RedHawk Band: - All Music All People free concert -Monday, March 18th at 7 pm in the CHS cafeteria _____________________________________________________________________________________________ Jr. Russell Cup: Friday, April 5th at CHS. All middle school students are invited to participate, you do not have to be a runner to be a part of this fun free track event! Events include one mile, 100 meters, 400 meters, 400 meter relay, Long Jump, High Jump, and Shot Put. If you are feeling unsure, a clinic/practice with the coaches will be offered on Wednesday, March 20th at 4:00. And yes, you will also get extra credit in your PE class. Sign ups and more information will be in the PE offices. ______________________________________________________________________________________________ Talent Show: Thank you to all the wonderful and talented performers that participated. A good time was had by all! _____________________________________________________________________________________________ Poetry Contest: Carpinteria Arts Center is sponsoring a poetry contest with cash prizes, a chance to be published in the Coastal View, on bookmarks or in a special edition book. There is no entry fee. Your poem must be original, unpublished and no more than 100 lines long. Submission deadline is April 12th. She is the second female U.S. Supreme Court Justice and spent her legal career advocating for women’s rights before taking the bench. Ruth Bader Ginsburg is known as the legal architect of the modern women's movement. She, more than any other person, pointed out that many laws encouraged gender discrimination; that is, they led to better treatment of men than women instead of guaranteeing equal rights and opportunities to all as was intended by the United States Constitution.
