Monday - Pajama day - "Don't let drugs ruin your dreams" Tuesday - Identical/Multiples day - "Friends don't let friends bully or do drugs" Wednesday - Wear RED (we'll have an activity at lunch) Thursday - Luau/Hawaiian day - "Lei off drugs" Friday - Hippy day - "Peace out to drugs and bullying" Dance: Postponed for now.... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Crazy hair day on Friday for Activity Day! There will be a contest for, "Best Crazy Hair". Everyone gets a chance to vote! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Change Wars: The exciting, parent group sponsored change wars takes place next week!! Change wars raises money for the parent group so we can help with classroom supplies, end of the year carnival, activity day fun and other school and teacher requests during the year. PSG representatives will be in your SSR classrooms next week collecting the change you bring in. As always the winning classes (one by dollar amount and one by highest average per student) will receive an ice cream party!! There will be a daily updates as to where each class is in standing so you know how close you are to the top! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ FUSE Night! Fall FUSE night is happening on Thursday, Nov. 3rd! It begins at 6:15 pm in the gym, and lasts until 8:00 pm. 8th grade students whose last names start with A through L and their families are invited to participate in science activities led by UCSB Engineering and Science graduate students. The hands-on activities will cover electricity and magnetism, marine science, and engineering. Participants will be able to make and take home projects! If you have any questions, please ask your science teacher. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Yearbook Cover Art Contest: Deadline to enter your cover art is Nov. 3rd. Voting will take place on Nov. 8th (the same day your parents may be voting for the new president and on other issues). The entry that receives the most votes will be used as the cover for this year's yearbook and the winner will receive a free copy. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ New lunch time guidelines: Students will continue to line up and enter through the field side to receive their lunches with the exception of the pizza window. Pizza will be same as before. Once you receive your meal you will need to sit at the tables in main area until you are done. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Counseling: Remember, you can now request to see Ms. Stahl or Ms. Kruk online! Under the student menu on the CMS website, click "Counseling" then choose "Contact" at the top. It's completely confidential and we will get notification immediately once you put in a request. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Noon Sports: The next activity open to all CMS students will be Capture the Flag. Teams will have six players each. Sixth graders will play sixth graders, and 7th-8th graders vs 7th-8th graders. Teams may be all one gender or mixed gender. Mixed gender teams will play in the boys' leagues, unless there are enough mixed gender teams to form its own league. Sign up with MR.
