"To think is to practice brain chemistry." Deepak Chopra ~ Indian-American author and alternative medicine advocate. Students! We are planning for our next Yes Day (formerly Wellness Day) and we have a question for you: What activity would you like us to offer? Soccer? Basketball? Spa room? Friendship bracelet making? Just a hang out space for you and your friends? Something else? Tell us by voting below! What is your suggestion for what we should offer during our next Yes Day? Link: Here ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ CMS Volleyball Group: Beginning after school on Wed. Oct. 15 in the gym. The first 25 students will be able to participate. Volleyball will be after school every Wednesday until mid December. See Mrs. O'Shea if you would like to sign up. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ASB: Every year on the third or fourth Wednesday in October is designated as Unity Day. This year it is celebrated on October 18. The key message of this month, and this day, is to unite for kindness, courage, and inclusion, to prevent students from being bullied. We are asking that all of CMS wear an orange shirt, sweatshirt, hat, pants, etc. to show support in kindness and inclusion. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ASB: Boo Grams will be on sale October 16, 17, 19, and 20. ASB students will be coming into your 1st period advisory time to sell Boo Grams, 25 cents for 1 or 5 for $1. During this time, you will hand your ASB rep your money and the rep will hand you the card to fill out. Your rep will stay in the classroom until all cards have been filled out. We will be delivering Boo Grams on Halloween during 4th period, so please make sure you know your friends' 4th period teacher. Please make sure to put your first and last name and your friends' first and last names as well. Remember to keep them school appropriate. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ASB: Door Decorating Contest- It's time to get the spooky doors hung! Take this time in your advisory class to work together to create the best Halloween door you can. You will have from October 3-30 to work together. ASB students will be coming around during 4th period on Monday, October 30, to take pictures so they can judge. The top 3 classes will win a prize. The top 3 grade levels can earn up to 150 points. 8th graders, you need to kick it into high gear since there are only 3 8th grade classes on campus during 1st period ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Yearbook Cover Art Contest: See Mrs. G for an entry form and guidelines. Yearbook staff will select 5 entries for the student body to vote on in November.
