TODAY'S NOTABLE FOR BLACK HISTORY MONTH ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
**Be Responsible **Be Respectful **Be Safe **Be a Positive Contributor ** ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Read Across America Day is Saturday which is Theodore Geisel's (also known as Dr. Seuss) birthday. The National Education Association launched Read Across America in 1998 as a year-round program to celebrate reading. Given Dr. Seuss’ impact on the reading world, his birthday (March 2) was declared Read Across America Day. Friday, March 1st, ASB and I would like you all to dress up as a character from a book written by Dr. Seuss. The class that has the most students dressed up will receive a special story and visit. If there is a tie then there will be 2 special visits. (Mrs. G has instructions on how to make a Cat in the Hat hat). Drop by the library and pick up a Wacky Word search that has many of the unusual words Dr. Seuss created for his stories. Just for fun! An interesting fact about Dr. Seuss ~ His friend bet him that he couldn't write a book using 50 words, and that’s how “Green Eggs and Ham” came to be. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ After School Soccer: Students who identify female = Today and Wednesday Students who identify male = Tomorrow and Thursday ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ AVID: College wear Tuesday tomorrow! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ AHA!
